It's been awhile since I've walked this trail. (It can hardly be called a hike.) But this is what you need to do: when you arrive in Prospect, Oregon, drive until you're almost out of town. When you see the General Store on the right park in the parking lot across the street. If you come to the bridge, you've gone too far. In that case, turn around and drive about a half of a mile. This time the store will be on the left. The trail has a small parking lot, park there, walk out of the parking lot as if you're walking away from the store, and you'll see the trail. It's not far from the bathroom. At first you'll be heading south roughly. If I remember correctly the trail curves around.

The trail passes by Pearsoney Waterfalls and then to the cliff edge of the gorge of the Rogue River. Once I seem to remember that Brad and I continued along the trail along the top of the cliff until we could make our way down to the bank of the Rogue River just below the Avenue of Giant Boulders. Every step of this walk or hike, whatever you decide to call it, is beautiful. If you choose to continue as Brad and I did, please sknow that you do so at your own risk :-) gm.
