The Rogue Natural Bridge Interpretative Hiking Trail
in Oregon off of the Crater Lake Highway, Oregon Hwy 62

At the Natural Bridge the Upper Rogue Wild and Scenic River dives into an ancient lava tube and runs underground, forming a natural land bridge. The USFS describes this trail saying that beaver ponds, birds and many tree and plant species add interest to the trail. I have never seen beaver ponds near the natural bridge. Now if you decide to continue beyond the natural bridge, heading north to the Big Bend trailhead, or head south to Woodruff Bridge, hiking along the Rogue River either way, you might see beaver ponds. Although I have not. For myself, I would say that if you're interested mainly in the Rogue Natural Bridge Interpretative Trail and that's all, you will not be disappointed in the vistas you will see.

The trail, rated by the USFS as easiest, is .3 miles long, with benches alongside and paved with interpretaive signage at the trailhead. The wayside itself offers accessible restrooms and parking.

Find the Rogue Natural Bridge: Traveling north on the Crater Lake Hwy, Oregon Hwy 62, the turnoff can be found 9 miles north of Prospect, Oregon on the Crater Lake Hwy, or, if you're heading north from the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, Oregon Hwy 230, it's about 1 mile north of Union Creek. Union Creek offers the gorge, a restaurant, a hot dog - ice cream stand, a small store - gift shop, a resort, horseback rides, a forest service campground. The area offers several forest service campgrounds, as well as the beautiful upper Rogue wild and scenic River with hiking trails that follow the river, hiking trails that follow various creeks in the area and hiking trails that lead to waterfalls. Crater Lake National Park is nearby too.
