Winter Drapes Mt Scott:

the eastern boundary of Crater Lake in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon.

Mt scott on the eastern rim of crater lake national park in the cascade mountains of oregon - mountains, national wildlife refuges, national parks, national monuments, high desert, oregon coast, california coast, cascade mountains, redwoods, hiking trails, hikes, camping facilities in oregon and northern california.

The seasons roll round and winter comes early to Crater Lake. As snow begins to fall, the north entrance closes. Oh but, it's wonderful to be at Crater Lake just before that closure, to drive into the park, still fresh from all the beauty of the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway and the North Umpqua River where the warmth of summer lives on, then travel along the western rim and see the light dusting of snow everywhere.
