... the the river sheds light as the sun lowers in NoWhere ... the south fork of the Salmon River ...
We've left Sawyers Bar. Brad thought we could make the entire journey driving more than 100 miles from his home at the retreat, to the turnoff to O'Brien Oregon and the Redwoods at Happy Camp on the Klamath River before stopping for the night. But by this time we'd realized we wouldn't make it. There was just too much to stop see and do. We drove onto Forks of the Salmon, spent some enjoyable, relaxing time there and then went on to find our little bivouac for the night. :-)
Just a hint of the Salmon River Gorge still to come ...
Travel northern California. See the Marble Mountains, the Salmon Mountains, the beautiful Salmon River, Sawyers Bar, the best living mining town, the magnificent Salmon River Gorge. Raft the river, try your hand at mining and/or fishing. Hike the Russian Wilderness in the Klamath National Forest. Or simply enjoy yourself sightseeing.
