... mountain lakes in NoWhere ... This is Taylor Lake in the Russian Wilderness ...
Taylor Lake, like most of the 22 mountain lakes in the Russian Wilderness, is situated in a glacial cirque and surrounded by granite peaks. The ridges above Taylor Lake are quite stupendous.
The Forest Service offers dispersed camping at Taylor Lake, and at Hogan Lake beyond Taylor Lake and over the ridge. Camping permits are required, however a camping permit is required.
